Children’s Dentistry
Developing Good Oral Habits From A Young Age
The ADA recommends that children should begin seeing a dentist when either their first tooth becomes visible or before they turn 12 months old. According to developmental psychology, the earlier a child encounters a particular environment, the more likely they are to get used to it and feel positive about it. So in this case, it’s important to visit the dentist with your child from an early age so that they can develop good oral habits for a lifetime.
Prevention of dental issues starting from a young age is also important and throughout the process, the dentist can track the growth of your child’s teeth to ensure that there are no problems. If a problem is detected, it can be fixed early. The dentist will also discuss tips for managing your child’s oral health and also provides specific services such as removal of baby teeth and mouth guards for the sporty ones.
We understand that it’s not easy to bring your little one to see the dentist so we have created a caring and welcoming space. We encourage parents to talk to their children about the benefits and importance of looking after their teeth. If they’re feeling nervous, offer them a reward after the visit to the dentist. On our end, we endeavour to make you and your child’s visit a fun and memorable one! We have a television so your child can bring their favourite movie along to play, a special visit from the tooth fairy and toothbrush sets with popular cartoon characters to take away!
